La radiación solar global en las provincias El Oro, Loja y Zamora Chinchipe, Ecuador. Utilización de datos de reanálisis de la nubosidad diurna.

In this work is presented an approach to the theoretical solar radiation in El Oro, Loja and Zamora Chinchipe provinces (Ecuador), from the Hottel’s Model, considering the daylight cloud amount and using atmospheric transmittance, solar zenith angle, altitude, and climate type. Resulting Global Solar Radiation amounts using altitudes of the Digital Terrain Model of the study area are shown for annual totals and for the months of January and August. Conclusions and recommendations are given.

Aproximación a la evaluación del potencial eólico utilizando modelos numéricos de altitud y modelos lineales de viento en la capa límite atmosférica.

One of the objectives of the present work is the determination of areas in which it is possible the use of the Eolic energy. In the study area information is not enough, reason why it is necessary to use other sources of data. Digital Elevation Models (DEM) allow us to know areas where the winds can flow due to orographic factors. A DEM for the area of the project was processed and obtained, with nodes every 0,001◦ . Data of reanalysis of different elements performed by NASA were used.

Utilización de imágenes GOES en el cálculo de radiación solar en la Región Sur del Ecuador.

An approach is presented to the solar radiation possible to obtain in the provinces El Oro, Loja and Zamora Chinchipe, South Region of Ecuador (RSE) using images of the Geostationary Satellite GOES-East, and the data of global radiation obtained in a net of five automatic stations located in the RSE from which a theoretical model was obtained, by means of multiple regression analysis among the bands RGB (Red, Green, Blue) of the Visible and Infrared images of the GOES and the instantaneous data of global radiation in the stations.

Desarrollo de energías renovables a pequeña escala en los sectores rurales de la provincia de Loja.

En la actualidad en el Ecuador se ha emprendido por una parte, en una revalorización y cambio de la matriz energética, en la que se procura hasta el 2020 disminuir la dependencia del país de la generación térmica y paulatinamente incorporar centrales que utilicen fuentes renovables de energía; y además, ampliar la cobertura eléctrica a los sectores rurales marginales que carecen de este recurso, y es así como se han promovido programas y proyectos de electrificación rural utilizando energías renovables.

A Review of Concepts and Methods for Wind Turbines Condition Monitoring Revisión de Métodos y Conceptos del Monitoreo por Condición en Aerogeneradores.

As the demand for wind energy continues to grow at exponential rates, reducing operation and maintenance costs and increasing reliability is now a top priority. Aside from developing more advanced wind turbines designs to improve the availability, an effective way to achieve this improvement is to apply reliable and cost-effective condition monitoring techniques. This paper is a general review and classification of methods and techniques for wind turbine condition monitoring.
